I was alerted to a swarm on the village hall roof. Thinking this was a gathering cluster I tried to collect them by hand. Realising they were actually going into the roof, a trapout was set up.

Mesh cone is positioned over the entrance. All other entrances are sealed. A single Warré hive (containing some used brood comb) was positioned close to the entrance offering sanctuary to the trapped out bees.

A cutout piece of live brood comb was added to allow the bees to make a new queen should their original queen not leave the roof.

As the trapout was close to my apiary, the hive was moved to a temporary location for a couple of weeks before final being re located to my apiary.
